Tycoon Lake and Horseshoe Cave



The Tycoon Lake petroglyph of a hand with a possible eye motif below it.
This angle of view distorts the image a little but is necessary to make the shallow lines visible.


This is the field sketch I made showing every line that appeared to be man-made.
The "eye" motif is very deeply cut whereas the lines in the "hand" are very shallow.

Jim Murphy provides a scale for the height of the Horseshoe Cave panel above the present floor.
He is pointing to the left panel of drawings. The central anthropomorph is about
a foot and a half above his hand.


The Horseshoe Cave drawings. They are very difficult to see in this photograph,
primarily because of the state of preservation and the very low light conditions.
The central anthropomorph in the left group and the diamond-shaped motif in
right group are barely visible (see the drawings below).
